Your next road trip can be a dream or a nightmare. The difference is in the steps you take to prepare.

STEP 1) Have your vehicle checked by qualified technicians. Call for an appointment and let our service bay mechanic give your vehicle a clean bill of health before your trip.

STEP 2) Make the trip fun for the little ones. Children bore easily, and become irritable when bored. Many modern vehicles have the ability to show movies from DVDs or play the children’s favorite tunes over the vehicle’s sound system.

You can also go old school and challenge the kids to find out of state license plates or see who can find the most items starting with a second letter.

STEP 3) Be sure to stock up on supplies: food, water, soft drinks, a basic tool set and parts, such as belts and hoses, needed for quick repairs and a fully stocked emergency kit.

STEP 4) Always remember that GPS mapping systems were meant only as navigational aids. If you are in unfamiliar territory, look for the well-traveled routes. Certain back roads in rural areas and national and state parks are only passable during certain times of the year.
